Dinosaurs and weird cures at the Oxfordshire Museum

"Physicians agree" this steam bath cabinet is absolutely safe and good for the health!
I may be back in Spain, but I still have plenty of photos from England to share with you! In our last week in England we went to Woodstock, Oxfordshire, to visit the newly opened Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum. I'm pitching that story to a magazine, so I'll keep those photos for a while Instead here are some shots of the Oxfordshire Museum, a local history museum next door.
Jump the cut for more photos!

A boy's handkerchief from a century ago.
The museum is on the site of an amazing find of dinosaur footprints. This is an original dinoprint!
Note: not an original dinosaur.
In the nineteenth century, landowners set mantraps to maim or kill poachers.

If that was the original dinosaur I would suggest running about now...

Just thought I'd let you know, Sean, that I've been getting a lot of pageviews on that Iraq post we did in Nov 2012, for the last few months since all the trouble kicked up over there. The greatest number come from the US. Interesting, eh?

It's in the sidebar popular posts on my Rainforest blog in case you don't remember it.

D.G.: Interesting that people are finding it. Every now and then I hear about old posts coming back from the dead. I just got a tweet from someone thanking me for writing my series on hiking Hadrian's Wall. It inspired her and a friend to do the trail. I wrote that series five years ago!

Looking for more from Sean McLachlan? He also hangs out on the Civil War Horror blog, where he focuses on Civil War and Wild West history.

You can also find him on his Twitter feed and Facebook page.
