Travel Tuesday: The Little Things in Tangier

As I mentioned last week, I just got back from a month writing in Tangier. My timing was a bit bad, though, as I returned to Madrid just in time to participate in flu season! Luckily I'm better now.

Tangier is not the loveliest of Moroccan cities. Those laurels probably go to Fez. While Tangier as a whole is attractive enough, its real beauty lies in its little details. It's a city that rewards a close look.

A lamp in my neighborhood.
Mint tea with lots of sugar, a Moroccan tradition.
Tagine! Can't overlook this little detail!

Seems like a colourful place in all sesnses of the word.

Sean--That lamp is lovely (the pieces of glass that are set askew make it all the more appealing)... The small details ARE important.

I'm sorry to hear you were ill, but am glad to hear that you're feeling better.

You found the little gems. Great shots, Sean. I really like the one with the drink.

Looking for more from Sean McLachlan? He also hangs out on the Civil War Horror blog, where he focuses on Civil War and Wild West history.

You can also find him on his Twitter feed and Facebook page.
