Sean- I’m researching a 19th century baseball player and came across an interesting story involving Jesse and Frank James. Apparently they attended a game in Oshkosh, Wisconsin just a few weeks prior to the Northfield Raid. The game was played between Oshkosh and Northfield. Perhaps the James boys had some connection to a player or coach, or maybe they were just passing through. I doubt that.
Interesting! I didn't come across that when researching my Northfield book. My research has them elsewhere at that time, but their location was far from certain. Perhaps it's one of these local legends?
