George Orwell, the Blogger

The Orwell Prize, Britain's greatest prize for political writing, is publishing George Orwell's diary as a blog, putting the daily entries online exactly seventy years after they were written. It just started on August 9, the date Orwell made his first diary entry in 1938.

I've been reading it and it's very interesting to see the man behind such great works as 1984 and Homage to Catalonia. The diary starts with Orwell recovering from his war wounds in Morocco, and continues to his return to the UK and the start of the war. It ends in 1942. So far it's been an interesting read, and I plan to continue following it up to the end.
