Literary agent Nathan Bransford runs an excellent blog. If you're a writer and haven't checked it out, do so. Then add my blog to your favorites.
This week he had an interesting post on how to be happy as a writer, even if you're not a huge success. The ten tips include not getting jealous, spending time with your friends and family, keeping up on industry news, etc. It's all pretty basic, but a good reminder nonetheless. I especially liked the one on preserving your integrity. Every year we hear another scandal about some memoir or newspaper article that turned out to be fake, or some novel that turned out to be plagiarized, but success isn't worth lying to the world to get, and these people usually end up getting caught eventually.
Keep on writing. . .
