Independent genre publishers are breaking new ground

There's an interesting article over at Book Vortex i09 about independent genre publishers. They list ten small presses that are breaking new ground in fantasy, science fiction, horror, and indefinable fiction. Included in the list is Damnation Books, which will be publishing a short story of mine in December. Others include old stalwarts such as Tachyon Books and Golden Gryphon. Also on the list is Canadian publisher Edge and personal fave Night Shade Books. Check out the article for some leads to some great reading, or markets to publish the stuff that doesn't fit in with the cookie-cutter assembly line of the major houses.
